NeighbourDesk ("we", "our", "us") is a housing society management platform operated by NeighbourDesk (neighbourdesk.com). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our platform.
By using NeighbourDesk, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
Society Information:
- Society name, address, and contact details
- Number of plots and houses
- Society admin name and contact information
Resident Information (provided by society admin):
- Full name
- Mobile number
- House/plot address
- Monthly billing records and payment status
- Complaints and maintenance requests
Usage Information:
- Login timestamps
- Pages visited within the platform
- Actions performed (bills generated, complaints submitted, notices posted)
3. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide and operate the NeighbourDesk platform
- Generate monthly maintenance bills
- Send payment reminders via WhatsApp
- Manage complaints and maintenance requests
- Post society notices and announcements
- Display society maps and plot locations
- Improve platform features and performance
We do NOT:
- Sell your data to third parties
- Use resident data for advertising purposes
- Share data between different societies
- Access your data without authorization
4. Data Storage and Security
- All data is stored on secure servers
- Passwords are encrypted using industry standard bcrypt hashing
- Each society's data is completely isolated from other societies
- We use prepared SQL statements to prevent unauthorized data access
- Regular backups are maintained
5. Third Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Google Maps API — for society map display (subject to Google's Privacy Policy)
- WhatsApp — for sending notifications (subject to Meta's Privacy Policy)
6. Data Ownership
- Society admins own all data they enter into the platform
- Resident data belongs to the society
- NeighbourDesk does not claim ownership of any society or resident data
- Upon account termination, data can be exported or deleted upon request
7. Data Retention
- Active account data is retained as long as the subscription is active
- After subscription cancellation, data is retained for 90 days then permanently deleted
- Admins can request immediate deletion by contacting support
8. Children's Privacy
NeighbourDesk is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify society admins of any significant changes via email or in-platform notification.
